I have been a life-long student of all that makes us human. I studied human paleontology to look at our origins, energy awareness to look at the edge of our envelope so to speak and depth psychology to help us understand what makes us do what we do.

In addition to my private practice in a welcoming, accessible office in Cameron Park in N. California near Highway 50, I have worked at a community counseling agency in Santa Clara, CA for 14 years, have taught workshops in meditation for 9 years, worked with communicatively handicapped preschool aged children, worked in a substance use residential treatment center for women, and with a local agency counseling children and families.

My focus is attachment-oriented counseling in family, couples and individual work. This includes deep wounding which is often called PTSI (Post Traumatic Stress Injury) as well as childhood development and attachment wounding. In addition, attachment-oriented counseling is also what I use with grief recovery. I am most excited about the recent developments in processing trauma via brain-based therapies (EMDR and Brainspotting). These therapies access trauma beneath our conscious awareness and process it rapidly, providing relatively quick recovery.

I also have studied psycho-neurology and am trained in PACT couples therapy by Stan Tatkin (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy).
Our deepest and earliest attachments inform our lives and the need for attachment continues throughout life. In this theme, I have studied how attachment and the brain go hand in hand to help us be the best we can be, how attachment is the glue that is at the core of our relationships as well as our fears and how the truth of who we are has no words. It comes out in how we feel, what we do, how our family and friends mirror us and appears in our dreams and visions.

Helping you on your journey to self-discovery is an honor for me.

I love animals and have three very active dogs. I also love nature and art and try to be in their midst at every opportunity.

My education:

My training is in the psychology of the unconscious (depth psychology, or Jungian based counseling psychology) psychoneurology, spiritual or transpersonal psychology and attachment trauma.
